WHIP means ‘whip’ in English, and it is this object that is at the heart of this solo imagined by Georges Labbat. Essentially associated with a history of torture and domination, the way in which the instrument is viewed here is shifted by its musicality and its movements, going so far as to reveal a form of delicacy. The dance is all rotation, constantly oscillating between danger and fascination.
