The grand jeté is one of the most virtuoso steps in ballet, a moment of suspension whose outcome is uncertain. Silvia Gribaudi playfully explores the metaphorical meaning of this compulsory figure. Accompanied by ten performers from Michele Merola’s MM Contemporary Dance Company, from take-off to unknown landing the Italian choreographer puts this movement into perspective, tackling both its ending and new beginning with humour.
